Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are thin pieces of durable, tooth shaped porcelain that are custom made (to match shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory. Veneers are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a beautiful, attractive smile.

Veneers completely reshape your teeth and smile. Veneers can often be alternatives to crowns and the ideal solution in treating many dental conditions.

Veneers, as with most dental restorations are not permanent and may need replacement someday. The porcelain is very durable and will last many years, giving you a long lasting, beautiful smile.

What does getting porcelain veneers involve?

Getting veneers is usually a two visit process. Teeth are shaped to allow for the thickness of the veneer. An impression or mold of the teeth is taken and a color for the veneers is chosen by you and the dentist.

The second visit includes cleansing the teeth with special liquids to achieve a durable bond. Bonding cement is used between the tooth and veneer and a special light beam is used to harden and set the bond.

Pateints will be sent home with care instructions for veneers. The life of your veneers will depend on proper dental hygiene including proper brushing, flossing and regular dental visits.
